TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How does wool reduce the proliferation of odours?

Thanks to its excellent capacity to absorb moisture, wool reduces bad odours. Indeed, merino wool not only absorbs the water contained in perspiration, it also absorbs the exhalation of perspiration odours. So you can wear your T-shirt for several days in a row, which means you can take fewer clothes on a trek!

How did we improve the durability of our T-shirt?

Use of a BETA-SPUN yarn structure in which the polyamide threads coat the Merino wool fibres and protect them from rubbing and cuts without affecting their technical properties.

Moisture evaporation

When you make a physical effort and sweat heavily, the merino wool easily traps the insulating warm air and can absorb up to 35% of its weight in moisture without making you feel damp, which is appreciable in cool weather. In hot, dry weather, the evaporation of the water in the wool absorbs energy, which cools the body slightly at the same time.

WHAT ARE OUR COMMITMENTS IN FAVOUR OF ANIMAL WELFARE?

'We only use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing for this product. We decided to build a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment. This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool. More information on the Forclaz website.

How do I wash my Merino wool t-shirt?

We recommend that you machine wash your Merino wool t-shirt at 30° on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Always dry flat and NEVER tumble-dry unless you want to end up with a doll-sized merino T-shirt! You can find an article on looking after merino wool clothing on the Forclaz website.

To make the component feel softer, don't hesitate to wash your T-shirt before first use.

Tips for storage and maintenance

Any type of ironing allowed.

Maximum wash temperature of 30°C. Very moderate treatment.

Iron at a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C.

Maximum wash temperature 70°C. Normal treatment.

Ironing at a maximum iron soleplate temperature of 200°C.

TESTS AND WARRANTY

Test product

The Trek 500 underjacket was tested in summer 2020 in the Northern Alps, both for mountain trekking and other outdoor sports. These tests enabled us to validate the product in use.
