What is Full EVA?

This innovation is exclusive to Kuikma, Decathlon's padel brand. The racket is made from a single piece of EVA foam covered with a composite fibre surface. The frameless assembly widens the EVA foam surface and increases the sweet spot. This makes the padel more forgiving of centring errors for better ball control.

How we design our products

Kuikma is a team of passionate padel players.
Our research centre is based in Spain and is specialised in design and engineering. It works to identify users' needs to provide input to our design centre in France.
Following tests conducted with Horacio Alvarez Clementi, we then tested the racket durability at our design centre lab.
This lets us validate our products with a quality guarantee.

Technical design

- Soft EVA foam: moderate speed and high forgiveness of off-centred hits.
- Fibreglass: comfort and moderate ball speed.
- Full EVA: A single piece of EVA foam to increase the sweet spot for optimal forgiveness and better ball control.
- High Modulus Carbon: high-density carbon reinforcements that improve racket durability.

Test product

Our research centre is based in Spain and is a hub for design and engineering expertise. Its role is to identify users' needs and feed them back to our design centre in France. The prototypes are tested on padel courts by users who represent that particular need. Their durability is then tested in the lab at our design centre. These tests mean that we can thoroughly check the quality of our products.
