What's behind the Play range?

Because children are not miniature adults, our design teams have invested over 3 years of research to create a range of footwear adapted to the specific needs of growing children. The trainers in the Play range are also specially designed to be worn all day, every day, while respecting children's natural locomotion. With these trainers on your feet, there are no limits when it comes to moving... anywhere, anytime!

What study did we carry out?

In collaboration with various university and medical experts, Decathlon conducted the world's first longitudinal study of children's multisport activities. By involving several primary school classes, we defined the long-term effects of footwear on children's healthy motor development and the risks of growth-related injuries.

What is a shoe that promotes healthy development for children?

The study encompassed biomechanical, clinical and sensory aspects, making it possible to establish essential criteria for ideal footwear: torsion balance for optimum support, adequate cushioning to encourage muscle development, and adjusted flexibility for fluid, natural movement.

Removable insoles? Handy, but what for?

The insoles are easily removable. We advise you to remove them regularly to air them and limit unpleasant odours. What's more, they can easily be replaced with orthopaedic insoles if your child needs them, offering a personalised fit for the ultimate in comfort.

Tips for storage and maintenance

Drying in a tumble dryer possible. Normal temperature, maximum exhaust air temperature of the drum 80°C.

Maximum wash temperature of 30°C. Very moderate treatment.

Iron at a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C.

Maximum wash temperature 70°C. Normal treatment.

Ironing at a maximum iron soleplate temperature of 200°C.

Storage tips

To keep your kids' trainers fresh, we recommend storing them in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture.
