I needed a kayak to get into Sydney Harbour for the NYE 2017 fireworks. A friend mentioned Decathlon in Tempe had only just opened the day before, went there straight after work and took the last available kayak to test out for 7 days for free.
The staff at Tempe were amazing and extremely helpful. The team manager, being a kayaker himself, knew the product really well.
I took the kayak out to Blackwattle Bay in Sydney, paddled around on flat waters and pretty much purchased it within the 7 day trial.
It was so easy to inflate and put together in less than 10 minutes! Not only that, it was quick and easy to deflate and pack away back into the carry bag. The carry bag has straps that I can strap the pump and detachable oars to. To do this on my own (164cm female) was easy and manageable , including carrying the backpack from my car to the shore (thank goodness for heavy weight training!) *Note, if you struggle to lift or carry 20kg you will struggle to get this back to your car if going solo...of course it's way easier with a friend*
It can take a bit more weight (for safety 140kg max) however, my cousin and I being roughly a combined 145kg did pretty well!
My friend and I took it out twice and experienced some choppy waters on the harbour but the kayak seemed to handle it well.
Great product for leisure! I've had it for about 3 weeks and have gone out 4 times already. I'll be taking my nephews out on scenic rivers/lakes around Sydney during these school holidays! Best Christmas present to myself ever.
Easy to store (I live in an apartment, no garage), don't need to worry about buying roof racks (for some, it's the same value as this kayak - or more!) AND the detachable oars are great to team up with this piece.
Very very good easy to inflate
Not used yet but looks great.
Very happy with this purchase it was brought for my boyfriend for his birthday his very satisfied
Good quality product and easy to inflate and deflate .
Basically, love it. But one thing really frustrates me, you sell the pressure guage separate for approx £10, but it came already attached on the 2way pump I bought, but yet you can’t even use the pressure guage on anything due to the none return Boston valves, so it’s of no use to me and I have no way of knowing what the pressure of my kayak is, so now I’m left not knowing weather it’s to soft or to hard, I can’t even consider buying the 12v electric pump with the auto shut off because it just won’t work with the Boston valve system.
We now have 3 of these Kayaks and after being a bit sceptical at first now think they are extremely well made and very good quality.
Used primarily in the sea in France they are stable, solid and easy to inflate and deflate!!
You can even get them back in the bags after use!!!
We just bought 2 of Kayaks and so far delighted with the purchase. They are really good quality and some clever design features removable floor. Already had them on the lake and yesterday on the Sea very stable and great fun . So easy to inflate about 8 mins and fairly easy to deflate and re-pack in the large rucksack. We bought 2 so we could all get on the water and for people who think the 2 person one is small , well Iam 6ft and my wife's tall plenty of room for us and our dry bags. So far totally impressed with this product.
Doesn't include pump, no mention in the buying process that the pump is a separate requirement.
Everything so far about this kayak is 10/10... it's got separate bladders protected by a tough outer skin. The floor is very stable enough to stand on with care. The seat is pretty good but needs adjusting during any daylong trip. It's easy to inflate and easy to deflate. It packs away with ease once you get the folding and compression sorted out. It needs ropes side fore and aft... so buy some thin climbing ropes about 50 meters and hot weld cut. But a good paddle and good gloves ( I bought lomo kayak gloves which protected my hands on a three day trip) - generally this is a really great fun kayak.
