Technical Information

500 mAh battery The lamp’s battery can be recharged via its micro-USB port. You can recharge it with: an electrical socket, a vehicle cigarette lighter or any other standard USB socket (including solar panels). The micro-USB charging cable is sold with the lamp. However, this is not the case with the mains power adaptor, but you can for example use your smartphone’s charging cable.
Allow 3 hours for a complete charge with a 220 V mains power outlet. A red LED indicates the start of charging. A green LED indicates the end of charging. For the dynamo system: turn the dynamo for 1 minute to get 4 minutes of lighting. A circuit breaker protects the battery from being overcharged.
For your visual comfort, this lamp features an electronic intensity control system. This means that you can enjoy the same intensity of light however much battery life is remaining.

It is in France, at the foot of the Mont Blanc, that our design team imagined, thought up and designed the Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. Jura, Auvergne... We headed out onto as many different terrains as possible, in all weather conditions. These experiences were highly beneficial for us, allowing us to hear your feedback and start thinking about our future products!

It just works
Used for 1 week or less
Lasted more than one night on a single charge - great hung outside of bedrooms in tent for a softer night light for the kids. Could do with a hook option not just a continuous loop but managed to get it clipped into my tent tension syraps
Excellent auxillary light.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
We have a camper trailer with a full 12v system and led ligjt bars, but periodically we need auxillary lighting and this is perfect.

Great little lamp
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Nice and easy to use, simple to charge when you have power, or just start cranking the winder if you don't.
Ideal rechargeable light
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Provides enough light for a 1-2 man tent, high versatile with the use of both USB charge and the hand crank so you will never be caught out without power
really surprised
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
When I turned it on in the shop I wasn't exactly blown away by it's brightness, but the next night when out camping, the brighter setting is almost blinding! This is a really smart little light. We charge it before we go camping via the USB plug, and then use it every evening to play cards by over a weekend with no noticeable drop in performance. My son had a friend camping in the back garden so we used it as a night light (on the lower white light setting) and is was still burning brightly when I came down the following morning.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Really good, keeps charge and really happy it has a usb plus a handle to self charge!
Rechargeable night light
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
We purchased this light as a night light for the grandchildren when we take them camping and we're disappointed to find it only lasted 5 hours not much good if the children wake in the night
Response of the brand
Hello Gerry, Thank you for reviewing the Dynamo 50 camping light. This light only has a recommended usage of 4hours at 50 lumens and 9hours at 25 lumens, without having to be recharged via the USB or dynamo. For the extended battery life you require i would recommend either the Quechua BL40 which lasts around 60 hours (40 lumens) or Quechua BL 100 which lasts around 15 hours at 100 lumens. Both of these models require batteries (included).  If you require further assistance, please visit your local store where you will be able to recieve information of which light best suits your needs and budget.
