Technical Information

1
Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our responsible material commitments. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering. http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/documents-et-rapports/documents/
2
Fill Power of the down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled with 85% down/15% feathers, the fill power is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 660 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power (a higher CUIN number) takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.

4
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling*
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth, feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible

Care instructions for jackets filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow the instructions by clicking the link below: http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket
6
In the event of rain
The material of this padded jacket is water-repellent. It makes drops of water run off the fabric so it takes longer for water to get inside the jacket, giving you time to find shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
7
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most environmentally-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental data of its products. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Waste of time, don't bother. Ordered a 2XL for my father for christmas and when it came I was shocked at the size of this jacket. When I by Mens clothes I usually buy S or M and this ONLY just fit me... So there's no way on earth this can be 2XL.
Not just that, but I then discovered that I had to pay to return this item.
I couldn't find a phone number to talk to anyone so I had to waste a whole afternoon taking the item back to a store as it was very bulky and would have cost a fortune to post. I couldn't wait for an email reply as I need the money back to buy a new present.
Will not be buying clothes from Decathlon again as their sizing are clearly screwed up.

Not suitable for the mountains
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Purchased two weeks ago from your Braehead Store. Has been worn to the office and the jacket performs well on the journey into work (on a train).

However I went on a short 8km walk in the Kilsyth Hills, max altitude around 500m, temp 1.5C, wind 16mph ESE, dry and sunny. With the wind at my back there was a cold spot around my neck despite wearing a warm hat and trying to pull the hood of my fleece up to cover my neck, the jacket rode up my back on the uphill sections resulting in the base of my back being cold, the jacket is too short at the back.

Walking into the wind the jacket has a cold spot around the neck and the length of the front could also be longer for warmth, I was cold because of this.

I was glad I tested it in a short walk in winter conditions, I don't think it lives up to being 'Designed for The mountain trekker. Over a few days in cold weather.'

Suggested improvements, increase body lenght of jacket, add hood and it will be usable in the hills.
