Technical Information

1
How to pack your bag for optimal comfort?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavier gear (tent, stove, food) closest to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap, the tent goes under the bag if it doesn't fit inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, distribute the smaller items that you use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc). If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
2
How to adjust the height of your backpack?
Place the adjustment system at the height you think is correct then adjust the backpack (see. "How to adjust your backpack"). With the belt on the pelvis, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders and the load adjuster straps (sometimes also height-adjustable) at an angle of around 45° (they should never be horizontal or vertical). If during fitting, the back seems too short or too long, readjust it and try again, until it feels absolutely right.
3
How to adjust your backpack?
FIRST, LOOSEN all straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). Put the backpack on. For backpacks with a capacity of 50 L or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, position the belt around your waist. Tighten the shoulder straps. Finally, adjust the load adjusters to suit.
4
How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container to measure the equivalent volume in litres within a few percentage points. The net weight is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.
5
Environmental measurements
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing and contrasting products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

10-year warranty
The warranty covers any defects/faults with the backpack, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid with the product itself and the sales receipt. If the product is under warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged for free. This commercial guarantee does not affect any statutory guarantees that are applicable in the country of purchase.

Maintenance tips
To ensure the fabrics retain their initial properties (waterproofing in particular), you are advised not to machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean or bleach your backpack. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, you are advised to use warm soapy water and a brush if necessary. After a few years of use, you can refresh the water-repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.

Great for its price!
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Great backpack for its price, solid and has great back support and comfort
Quechua forclaz 70 backpack
Used for 1 week or less
Nice looking backpack with easy access to the main compartment using zip, I have used it for a 7 day trip across the mountains in wales and I found a bit difficult to carry everything I needed so I had some modifications done before I left on the trip.
Had to sew 2x clips for attaching water bladder, all straps from the backpack are short length and not enough anchor points to attach things outside.
I had to order 10 metres of strap to do necessary mods.
No rain cover.
When the backpack is full I find it really difficult to use side pockets special when side straps are buckled water bottle will be almost impossible, if you using nalgene 750ml forget..
Overall nice looking backpack... but could be improved.
Firclaz 70 litres
Used for 3 to 6 months
This is actually a fantastic design and incredibly comfortable to wear and adjust. The three star comes purely because of the base of the rucksack. This needs strengthening. One use by a silver dofe’r And we have a snag tear. Now granted we don’t expect it to survive barbed wire treatment etc but the fact that one ripped so easily and another has stretched the stitching is disappointing. Will hold off buying any more til we see an improvement ... we need ours to last a little longer
Backpack 70litre

Very stronge plenty of room great for camping or outdoor adventures
great quality and weight for the price
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is a nice bag for the price, light weight and enough space for all my gear. Someone said it digs in at the bottom of your back but I haven't had this maybe as i'm only 5ft 6.
Thought it would last longer
Bought this bag for a three week trip around Asia. I love it and it has all the compartments you could wish for. Massive downside is that the metal support in the back plate pushes it's way out of the velcro meaning the bottom is not supported by the rod anymore. Result? A collapsed bottom that has been digging in the small of my back for the last week.
Good travel unit
Used for 1 week or less
Bag meets required tasks. Comfortable at full load. Not sure of its trekking capabilities as I'm not into it but as travelling unit it's amazing. Lots of space and good materials for the bag build.
value for money
Used for 3 to 6 months
the front loading feature is great, the overhead storage is contrary to how it looks, space is huge.
Great rucksack - all I was looking for
Used for 1 week or less
Large storage space, front opening for organising stuff and easy to pull out, fairly comfortable while carrying on shoulders.
good
Used for 1 week or less
Comfortable, more option, but if it has its own rain cover then it will be amazing.
