Technical Information

1
Footwear waterproofing test.
These boots, which are laboratory and field tested, provide optimum waterproofing and breathability. The boots are initially immersed in water with pressurised air inside to check for bubbles on the surface of the boot. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
2
3 levels of waterproofing.
During the waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, with 2000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 4 km walk), 4000 flexes (approx. equivalent to an 8 km walk) and 8000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 16 km walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
3
Boot waterproofing.
The 500 Warm boots are waterproof up to 4,000 flexes.
4
Field tests.
All our shoes undergo comfort and use tests carried out by users who are representative of our target market, in conditions identical to those found in typical use. In our field tests the product manager works with people outside QUECHUA to test, improve, and approve our products.
5
Measurement of the boots' thermal insulation.
It was not previously possible to give a precise idea of the temperature at which your shoes would still insulate your feet from the cold. Now it can be done: the temperature limits for use are shown on your Quechua boots. We conduct field and laboratory tests on people's sensitivity to the cold with a panel of customers to measure the thermal insulation of our boots at rest and when walking. We take into consideration the differences between men and women.
6
Lab tests.
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and straps, fixtures, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion, advanced ageing.

Men’s Hiking Boot
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is the 6th pair we have bought over 5 year we have had this boot for my son growing feet. Warm, comfortable especially in the snow. Good grip. We all have a pair.
Love them
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I'm female but these to me are unisex if you are not in to feminine boots that is, They are VERY warm and the leg of the boot is soft so no rubbing, the zip can be tricky as someone else posted but put your knee forward and the boot on the toe and the zip works fine. I recommended them to both men and woman. Great boot great price.
Great snow boots
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Best value of money I work as a delivery driver and these boots are just right - you can compare with motorbike boots worth hundred of pounds
Love these boots
Used for 1 week or less
I bought these boots because I needed something warm ( like a moon boot ) to keep my feet warm in the snow. I wasn't disappointed. I also bought them with some cushioning gel sole inners (46165) from Decathlon and I am very please with them. The reason people cannot do them up easily, is that you have to lean your legs forward, like when resting in ski boots, to do the zip up and down, but once you have the hang of that, they are easily put on and taken off again. Nice and warm. I'll only use them for a couple of weeks a year, so hopefully, they'll last me a good few years.
Great Value

Usual good decathlon price and quality, a bit sung fit with ski socks.
Could not do up the zip
Nice product.Fitted my foot okay.Right size. The problem I had because the zip was at an angle and me and another customer could not zip up the boot.So sadly returned the items The product looked great. We tried a size above but the same problem.Nothing wrong with the zip off the foot it worked.I think it has been to tight over the ankle causing the problem
A very warm and comfortable boot
Used for More than 2 years
A brilliant product bought over and over again for my husband

Warm and comfy
Used for 3 to 6 months
Great boots. Have used these on a skiing holiday and they were brilliant - very warm and snug - and I also use them every day for walking the dog in muddy, waterlogged fields. Very comfy and warm and almost 100% waterproof very minimal water ingress). For the price, they're a great boot and miles better (warmer, comfier) than wellies. Will definitely buy another pair as and when I wear these out!
Warm, comfy for long walks, easy to clean
Hard 2 zip up & take off, not quite100% waterproof
